Imbolc

February 1 is the Celtic festival of Imbolc, halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, which marks the beginning of the end of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. It became the Christian St. Brigid's day in Ireland.

Happy Imbolc to you too! It's wonderful to know that we're seeing the beginning of the end of winter and are getting closer to the Spring Equinox! :-D

It doesn't look like spring is anywhere close in the north right now!

*Sigh* Yeah, I know. I think just about everyone in the north is buried under snow at the moment. I heard today that February is supposed to be really bad. However, for the sake of my sanity (and seasonal affective disorder), I'm going to try to keep the spirit of Imbolc alive. *g*

I hope you've not been badly effected by seasonal affective disorder this winter.

Actually, it hasn't been too bad so far. I was feeling icky last week, but I think that had more to do with hormones than SAD. *g*
