I ordered a copy of the MacBeth DVD from the UK eBay a short while ago. It came quickly. I picked it up yesterday and watched it last night. It is a riveting historical drama, different from the usual run of Shakespearean productions. I think Jason and his co-star were excellent.  I think the film is so good that it should have won some awards. So, if you haven't seen this, try and get hold of it. While Jason may not display his dimples and looks a bit wild, you will be absorbed and impressed by his portrayal of MacBeth.

I agree with you, Jason did an awesome job in this movie. Too bad it's not widely known. It should be! ♥

I actually love Shakespeare but I don't watch a lot of it. I'll have to keep my eyes open for this one. Have you seen The Taming Of The Shrew with Liz Taylor in it? It's great. I also liked Much Ado About Nothing :-)

Copies of the DVD are still available on the UK eBay site, for 9.99 pounds. The seller ships worldwide and certainly sent my copy promptly.

I like Shakespeare, but I dislike it when the plays/films have modern costumes and settings. I went to see a theatrical version of the Taming of the Shrew once. It made my feminist blood boil so much I'll never watch the play again.

I once saw a theatrical production of Midsummer Night's Dream four times because it was so good. No ickle pretty fairies, but strange "hand held puppets," very basic scenery and props, were very effective.
