Weather, Primeval, Doctor Who

The weather this weekend has been foul: hard rain, strong wind, scary thunder and lightning in the early hours of this morning. There's another three days of rain predicted. I used to love this kind of weather, but now I think of animals out there without any shelter and people with inadequate shelter.

I've been cozy with cats. I decided to try watching Primeval, one of [livejournal.com profile] rusty_armour's favourites. I watched the first series and enjoyed it. Loved the dodos and Rex. But I get really annoyed with the chauvinistic casting in the tv and film industries. The women characters are almost always young and pretty. For Pete's sake: an expert on lizards is a petite, pretty, very young woman - how likely is that?

I'm fed up that Matt Smith has decided to quit Doctor Who. He is my favourite Doctor by far.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the first series of Primeval. I was afraid you were going to say, I decided to watch one of [livejournal.com profile] rusty_armour's favourites and hated it. *g* I will admit that the show definitely has its weak areas (one of which you've pointed out), but I enjoy it for Ben Miller alone. And the creatures, of course. It's probably very infantile, but I get a kick out of watching dinosaurs destroy cars, etc.

I heard the sad news about Matt Smith last night, though I'd heard rumours that he was thinking of leaving the show. I'll be sorry to see him go, but I guess I've been a fan long enough to have seen a few Doctors come and go. I always try to give the new ones a chance, though maybe that's more out of loyalty to the show. In any case, it will be interesting to see where they take things after the Eleventh Doctor regenerates...

Yes, Primeval has its weak areas, but the creatures are amazing. Ben Miller is great!

I'll definitely give the Twelfth Doctor a chance. I hope he's someone I'll like.

We've been having a lot of rain lately too. Makes it difficult to do anything out in the garden! It is nice to stay inside and be cozy with the cats though. :)

Rain is a good excuse to stay inside, cuddle up with cats and read or watch a show. :o)

I am sorry to see Matt Smith go. He was lovely as Eleven. I am interested to see who they cast as Twelve, as always it's exciting to see what comes next. I do love that about Doctor Who.

As long as Stephen Moffat stays involved Doctor Who will be worth watching, I reckon.
