His writing is a joy to read, both for style and content. I think he was a wise, humane and compassionate man, as well as having a great sense of humour.

I heard about this yesterday and still find it hard to believe. He was much too young to die. He will definitely be a sad loss to the world.

He was too young to die. I wouldn't have wanted him to live to be old if Alzheimer's disease destroyed his mind, but he was coping quite well with it.
