I bought a CD of The Jesus and Mary Chain's Darklands LP the other day because my turntable is stuffed and I wanted to play it. (Listen, I'm OLD, okay?) Great! I love Jim Reid's voice: dark and sexy. His brother, William, sings three songs on the LP. I tend to skip them because he has a bland, innocuous voice.

I found a new song by Jim Reid at: http://www.nme.com/news/the-jesus-and-mary-chain/59320. Love it!

Well, I definitely listened to music in the eighties, but I was more into pop back then. Actually, I still love eighties pop, though I'd like to think that my musical taste has broadened into other genres as well over the years. *g*

Which eighties pop bands do you like? I was and am into the less mainstream rock bands and I also liked some pop, e.g. The Human League.

P.S. Love the icon!

Not all of these bands are pop, but Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Genesis, the Police, and Depeche Mode. Oh, and The Human League as well, though I only know a couple of songs. There might be other bands that I'm forgetting, but those are the main ones.

I used to like all those on the radio, but I preferred "independent" music and I was rather snobbish about it!
