Klondike

I've just watched all three episodes of the Disovery Channel's Klondike mini-series, chiefly because Richard Madden plays the lead. It's about a couple of friends from Vermont who join a gold rush in the Yukon. I think it's good, realistic and absorbing. There's awesome scenery and class acting. The last panel came as a shock though and leaves you sad.

All good things ... Quote

The rather wonderful and must be mostly illegal site I use to watch tv series has been rumbled. I hope the guys who run it aren't in jail or something.

I still managed to watch the last two episodes of Game of Thrones thanks to one host link still working from the site, which I won't name.

A quote that was in a message in a yahoo group post:

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."

(I shamefully admit I had to look up the author.)

Feeling a bit out of fandom things ...

I'm behind on fandoms. I'm really into Merlin now when most people have moved on to The Eagle, the Borgias, Camelot and will soon be seeing Game of Thrones.

I wish I was into Star Trek, but I'm not. I liked BBC Sherlock and White Collar, but not to the point of joining fandoms. Supernatural Season Five was disappointing for me, so I'm not anticipating Season Six with bated breath.

Of course, I don't get to see most of the shows at the same time as others because of where I live and our crappy TV channels. I could subscribe to satellite TV, but it's expensive and I'd rather save the money to travel! I know some shows are available later for downloading, but our service is too slow.

I'll just have to read other people's comments, reviews, etc. with envy, but I won't be able to comment.
